Trends in Exterior Painting
As homeowners, we are always looking for new color trends and colors that help inspire us. In this article below, you will find a variety of key trends for 2015, but really these are everlasting trends, so chances are what’s in now, will also be in until you re-paint your house again. Most of the trends you see below, and trends that you have seen in the past, are gathered by the world we live in; they deal with fashion colors for runway models and what colors of their clothing is trending, they deal with television shows, movies and who is wearing what, as well as celebrities and what's popular right now. I promise we won’t be doing any odd "is it white, is it blue" colors (note the dress incident) but we will be going over trendy colors that look good on your house. Continue to read below to find out more about exterior house painting colors.
Embrace the Landscape
If you live in a location other than in the city, you probably have a lot of lush green grass, trees, flowers, etc. You probably also get to see some really great sunsets and sunrises, and at night you can probably gaze up into the midnight sky and watch as stars fall across the glowing moon. If this sounds like the location of your home, you are definitely going to want to use the landscape around you as a part of your house and painting it - not only indoors, but outdoors as well. Consider checking out a color pallet collection called Wildland. This is a collection that features all of those beautiful colors from your world, not just your singular location such as sandy beaches, bush land green, ice whites and blues and more. This is a really great paint if you have a lot of natural materials in your home such as leather chairs, timber and fur, and actually makes the paint on the walls look more vibrant. On the offshoot you are using these outdoors, consider it best used on exterior wood surfaces, rather than plastic, aluminum and PVC. The color pallet in Wildland can be used for the body of the house, trim, accents and door.
Architectural Homes
If you have a home where there are a lot of soft angles, curves and bends in things like the architectural features in the house; stairway, archways, entranceways, etc. and you also have included some sexy looking items in the house to accentuate those curves like curved leather chairs, curvy wooden tables or anything else with some "body" consider looking at a collection called Silent Shift. This is a collection created by Edwards Moore and the color focus on relaxation, calmness, and serenity as well as re-energizing ourselves. The collection features some really soft hues, not to be confused with pastels! And a lot of the colors in this collection actually revisit the 1980s and colors that were used in that decade. You have grays and pretty blues, blues and tans, mauve and pinks and also peaches and bland yellows to choose from in this collection. Choose one of the 18 for the base of the home and move on from there. I really love the pink tulle, mud berry and Ellen colors for the body of a house, but of course that depends on you and what your style is! If you have a really hard time choosing body, trim and accents and which colors to paint which part so the house, hire a professional exterior house painter in Suffolk County to help you make a choice.
Bold and Beautiful Colors
Apparently a lot of colors from the 80s are coming back into style, this one called the Modhaus Pallet is a collection that has been created by designers Bonnie and Neil. The collection Modhaus is all about experimenting with different contrasts, and playing with bold and beautiful schemes. It gives YOU the perfect chance to travel back to a time where creativity and colors and using what you liked was limitless instead of so restricted like it is these days. This collection is about seeing a color you like and not worrying about if it’s in Better Homes and Gardens or if Martha Stewart approves. This is about using colors that you really love and feeling like you have the freedom to do so. These colors are really cool and might need some sampling before you go out and buy a few gallons because they essentially change the way they look in the sun and different light during the day. For example, you might look at Orange Keeper and really love the almost burnt orange look of it during the day, but notice at night it looks more red brick. Before making any definite decisions with an exterior house make sure you try the colors out in different lights as well as during different times of the day. Also, instead of using three or four colors on the exterior of the home, consider choosing two that you like for something such as body and accents, and then for the trim and doors use a simple black color to balance it all out.
